Job Title: Assistant Corps Director - Eclipse Drum and Bugle Corps
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: Midwest, USA (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $7.50 - $11.00
Reports To: NSPAF CEO

Note: Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. Employees hired on banded positions (ex: E1-E3, O1-O2, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting. For example, if an E2 candidate is selected for an E1-E3 banded position, the candidate will remain an E2 in the new role.

Job Description:
The Assistant Corps Director is the second primary administrator of Eclipse Drum and Bugle Corps. The individual will maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for all personnel (Staff, Student Members, and volunteers). The Assistant Corps Director will aid in development of the yearly budget for the program as well as ensure all policies and procedures are being enforced. This position is intended for those with financial and administrative strengths.

Task and Responsibilities:
Administrative
  • Set schedules and assign rehearsal facilities.
  • Ensure Eclipse Drum and Bugle Corps is achieving internal and external metrics.
  • Manage and schedule staff.
  • Act as the senior administrator onsite.
  • Develop a budget in collaboration with direct reports and executive team.
  • Approve program payroll hours.
  • Attend board meetings as needed.
  • Long term program planning with stakeholders. 
  • Ability to delegate and follow-up
Management
  • Communicate safety and behavioral concerns about staff and volunteers to the Corps Director.
  • Assist with conflict resolution among staff and volunteers if needed.
  • Other task with admin scope.
Qualifications:
  • three years of experience working on a drum corps admin team preferred.
  • Management and office environment experience. 
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Pass a background check (driving position will require a MV check)
  • Experience working with individuals aged 13-22
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • Problem solving and ability to navigate last minute/unplanned changes
  • Use of corps wide technology applications
  • Ability to perform task with inconsistent sleep schedule
  • Ability to work outside in varying degree of weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unaided, stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs/ladders.
  • Must not be eligible to march in DCI as a participant.
Additional Details:
  • Flexible schedule allowed; one senior administrator must be on-site at all times.
  • Overtime and weekend work will be required in the summer.
  • Work will be done in varying conditions.
  • The position requires one weekend of availability between November - May.
  • June - August requires multiple weeks or sequential days of availability.   

Compensation and Benefits
  • Bi-weekly pay at agreed upon rate

Compensation: $8.00 - $12.00 per hour
